Who Are We?

Leaving your beloved pet in the hands of strangers can be a daunting experience for any animal owner whether it’s for a routine or even major procedure. Everyone in the veterinary practice plays an important role in making your animal’s experience at the vets as smooth and stress-free as possible, from the greeting of the receptionist to the meeting of the vet. The role of the veterinary nurse is commonly misunderstood and overlooked during your pet’s visit to the vets. Yes, we help “care” for your animal, but what does this really mean? There are no limits to the veterinary nurse’s role, however, these are a select few things that we specialise in:

·         Supporting and advising owners

·         Discussion and application of medical treatment
·         Dietary management
·         Adolescent, adult and geriatric advice
·         Dental checks and treatment
·         Rehabilitation of wildlife
·         Assisting the vet with equine/farm visits
·         Performing laboratory tests (e.g. blood and urine samples)
·         Preparation for surgery
·         Monitoring anaesthesia
·         Post-operative rehabilitation

As you can see veterinary nurses are highly skilled and qualified members of the veterinary team who work closely with owners and vets to provide a gold standard of care.Veterinary nursing takes someone who is dedicated, hard-working, and capable of handling difficult situations.
